I scaled my 3d models for the Mk47 and Iron Patriot helmets down to 1/3 the size and printed in Shapeways Ultra Detail material. Overall i'm really happy with the print quality and detail level that has been captured. Even the inner mouth detailing on the IM helmet is all there, just incredibly tiny.

Because the material is so thin, i have begun backing the pieces with urethane resin to make them stronger and easier to work with. I had 1 crack in the IM faceplate out of the box and another one from my nephew who accidentally cracked a small part. The resin easily remedied the problem though. Once the pieces are strong enough, i'll hit them with some high grit wet sand paper and smooth the surface texture out. If the finish turns out anything like my GL rings (same material used) i'll be very happy!
