Okay so its no secret now that these so called replica puppet props are complete pieces of ****, much to mine and many others disappointment.
I was one of the many so happy to see a relatively affordable Mogwai replica that looked half decent. And I know they can say use the "we wanted to make something affordable angle" there really isn't any good excuse for the random quality in which these things turned out. I was kind of expecting it to after they announced that stock had arrived yet I could only find one picture that they posted which was taken from across the room, obviously not wanting too reveal too much of the outcome while orders were still coming in haha.
ANYWAY, I could sit here sooking all day or get down to business. Basically I ordered 3 of these things before the negative reviews and pictures started popping up all over the internet and Ive already read about TOTS's **** customer service regarding refunds for faulty products etc so I'm just going to do my best to bring these guys too life. My plan is too completely de fur one of the mogwai and use the excess to patch and bulk up the other two. I might even consider selling one depending how it turns out.

First thing I felt it needed was a better pose, considering the puppet feature is completely useless as I cant even get two fingers inside it! I have inserted a wire frame and stuffed him to fill him out a bit.
I have lifted and re glued most of the fur around the eyes and mouth, as well as trimming a lot of it away to try bring out the lip curl so he doesn't look so much like a baboon with down syndrome. I still need to pick up some more white fur to fill out the space under the jaw and in the ears.
I have repainted all the flesh areas to darken them up a bit as they were a really creamy color not very accurate to the film. Also the biggest and most recommended modification is replacing those ****ing eyes haha. They really are quite awful and don't understand why they didnt just put some cheap plastic ones in there instead.

After numerous purchases and a few bucks wasted i managed to get some nice glass eyes used for taxidermy in Boars. Cost me a few bob but really makes all the difference! They look a little misty in the pictures as I still need to clean them up a bit and Im still layering fx gloss into the eyelids to seal them nice and flush.
Anyways I think I should be able to salvage it for the most part and I will post pics of my progress. Thanks for looking
