So, I got my very first pair of authentic classic safety/welding glasses for a very nice deal on eBay. By happy accident, it turns out that they're the EXACT pair that Claudia was using while cataloging the WH2 artifacts.

I'll post pictures later, I forgot to grab them from the car this morning, but they're in pretty good shape. Some of the screening on the sides is misshapen and pulled out in spots, but this isn't uncommon for them, it seems, and the lenses themselves have some nice nicks in them, but overall, pretty nice condition. I'll be trying to effect minor repairs in this regard.
To make them a little more accurate while preserving their original condition, I am going to have custom lenses cut, or possibly replace the lenses with glass from FLD filters. The lenses seem to be 50mm or so across, so the glass from 52mm camera filters may fit, and I'll also try 46mm if I need to. If that doesn't work, then custom lenses it is, which will be purple, of course.
Working at a hospital I have an infinite supply of purple neoprene gloves, just ready for handling all but the most touchy of artifacts (Triangle Shirtwaist Doorknob, anyone?).
My next project is a Tesla, as well as a Tesla grenade - hero accurate if I can do it, and then a Farnsworth. :D
