Back to the future 3 : Photoframe

Not much to say about this build.
Found a frame in a secondhand store that i glued strips of balsawood onto to get the extra frame around the border.



I used a tutorial found here Aging Wood to age the wood. It uses vinegear, steelwool, tea.
Works really good.



Here i printed out the picture and made a template to make the passpartou, and text placement. The picture I got in the Paper prop thread.


Using real passpartou would have been expensive so i used a thicker cardboard found on a notebook.






Now i started on the metal decoration. I saw that they were pretty much leafs and flowers and the design repeated on all the sided so i just made a few parts and then made a plaster mold.







I then used cenit clay (oven hardening clay) to make cast with.




Inside the oven it goes :)


Painted them mattblack.

and then added silver paint onto the casts with the help of a sponge.



Then glued them onto the frame and it was finished !
