Well let me start off by saying that I've been lurking on these forums for quite sometime, but finally decided to register and share some progress pics of my build.
As the title states I'm working on a Carbon Fiber Thomas helmet. Right now its simply a casting covered in real carbon fiber, with the plan to make the next one entirely from carbon fiber. A proof of concept if you will.
Well lets jump right in.
To start with, to get the carbon fiber to lay correctly with minimal weave distortion, it had to be put on in 3 seperate pieces. First the back, then the front lower section, followed by the front upper section. I won't go into details at this point on how to get the clean lines and the timing involved with placing the layers, but here are some pictures.
