Aliens Pulse Rifle Budget Wall Mount

So,

this will be my first "how to" on the RPF.

Since I needed a nice way to display my Pulse Rifle prototype in the dvd rental that I own, I've decided to build a Wall Mount on a budget.

I took the one that comes with the HCG as a sample and went from there.

I've started with a wood board in 60*40cm, some styrene and 2 steel angles.



Cut 10 styrene strips for the horizontal dividers



Cut 24 small styrene pieces for the vertical dividers



Rough sizing test



Divide into equal parts for slotting / drilling



Test fit with PR (which is in the progress of being overhauled)



Drill small holes, drill bigger holes, slot with Dremel



The reason i've made 10 big strips is that I wanted them to be higher than the vertical dividers, so I glued 2 big strips together to gain height.

Spread resin on wood, glue styrene on top



Attach angles, prime, paint flat black (still drying, hence the gloss)



Weather with silver drybrush, oil wash to grime it up - Finished:
