What are people's general thoughts on "idealizing" props and models here?
I know this is the Replica Props Forum, and most of you are going for making exact replicas of the items that were used on set, but how do you feel, for display items, if they were made as if they were real, working products you could buy in a store (sci-fi items)?
A lot of people are disillusioned when they see what was used on set, thinking they'd see what they saw on screen. I'm not one of those, and would love to have screen-used props, but I also appreciate when something is made to look as if it were a real product, not a prop from a movie or show.
