The $0 Budget Build Remnant Star Trek Klingon Communicator

Had a bunch of odds and ends left over from some recent dollar store budget prop builds. Felt guilty throwing away the "junk." Got looking at the pile of odds and ends and figured... hmmm... I'll bet i could make a decent (nowhere near screen accurate) Klingon communicator for some cosplay goodness. ;) For the main body shell I used the bottoms of two different containers (one held an assortment of screws, the other held paper fasteners), For the tip I used an old "finger pricker" for drawing blood for diabetes sugar testing. Various leftover lights from some dollar stores toys. Chrome greeblies from the cars and toys I salvaged the lights from. Two different size water bottle caps for the middle speaker (turned bottoms in - so that one slipped inside the other creating a closed cap), a broken bike reflector (turned backwards so that the textured side was out for some body texture), an International plug adaptor, some metal "dominos" from a travel game that was missing pieces and couldnt be used anymore... thrown together and painted in a quick afternoon - and voila... Klingon COMMUNICATOR (greasy,scratched,and weathered obviously)… There’s a micro switch on the bottom that turns on the front yellow light (which consists of one static yellow led and one strobing led behind a reflecting prismatic lens). There is a switch on the side that when pushed turns on the three red LED’s in the center “microphone” ring (push to talk - pushing all the way locks it in the “on” position”). On the reverse side… to make it easy and “futuristic” to attach to a Klingon uniform belt - I attached several high power magnets that will connect it to a small black metal plate/belt clip. The batteries are behind the center microphone which pulls out of the unit.
