3D Printing of prop parts

Hi,

I recently saw a 3D printer demonstrated making a little TARDIS.

I almost instantly thought of all the uses I could put such a printer too to print various prop parts.

Since they print in ABS, this would be an easy material to cement to other ABS parts and or even PVC which I often use for my costume builds.

Has anyone else had this idea or better still progressed it further?
