I thought o' this one a while ago too. I was trying to come up with something cool from "The Thing" & I didn't want something that was going to scare the crap outta' my younger kids...so I wound up trying to replicate the torn garment, (it's really not clear if it's coveralls, a shirt/coat, or pants - at least not to me - & I think I've watched the scene a couple dozen times).
I got a used olive drab garment bag & drew on the torn bits/parts as best I could, created a cardboard template for the name/stencil, (it's not standard military stenciling - at least not the kind I used in the Navy), & after an hour or so, I wound up with this.
Might just be the easiest replica I ever make. :lol
