So I'm gonna attempt to actually log the build this time... the full build as much as I can.
So this next Graflex will be a sort of celebration for me, or rather a little victory dance for myself to spew joy for another step in the build skills ladder.
So as you guys and gals might have seen my previous creations with my DIY crystal cores and PVC chassis for my graflex builds, while they turned out really well I felt at the time I really wanted something more streamlined and purpose build. Before I would do my best to use found parts and "engineer" different PVC plumbing fittings to go together to make my core. The most recent one I am actually really happy with.
Fast forward to just after completing the last one about 2 months ago, and starting to see some of Sanjuro's wonderful acrylic stands and holocron work. So the idea popped into my head for getting some parts made specifically for my purposes in building my crystal core. Then all of a sudden Sanjuro released his crystal emitter plugs on the world, and I literally saw my sketches come to life right before my eyes. There were some definite similarities and his plug filled in the imaginary gaps for me as I knew now exactly what my sketches would look like when turned into physical form.
So I sketched and sketched and finally approached John to see if it was something he would/could do. We exchanged some emails and figured out what would and wouldn't work for what I had in mind and I finally simplified my rough design and sent the sketch in.
John did the final designs and made all the calculations and did his magic, and my first batch came in today from Japan.
So without further ado, I present my crystal core MKIII.
