I'm curious to learn from more experienced builders as to their methods/techniques for finishing prop surfaces. While I have a good knowledge and what I've been doing works, I feel like I am doing things harder then necessary. So far, my only filler materials I've ever really worked with on a continuous basis has strictly been only Bondo and 2-party expoxy putty. They work great, but I guess I'm asking if there are any better/easier to work with materials out there.
My issues with bondo is mainly just the cure time and the fact that it can crack/flake off (of itself if needing to build it up) and will force me to make up another batch, apply, and then wait. The two part expoxy putty I've used as my "go to" filler since, unlike bondo, I can accurately take what I need, knead it around and apply. However, I've found that it's a huge pain to sand (I use the JB-Quick) as the plastic epoxy I've had issues adhering to surfaces in the past
I've heard of home-made fillers, such as mixing super-glue and baking soda. Anything else from the professionals? Thanks!
